20 juill. 1969 - Moon Landing
Description:
The famous space race between the United States and the Soviet Union reached its height in 1969 when the U.S. reached the moon first via the Apollo 11. Originally proposed by John F. Kennedy in 1961, the moon landing was a huge technological innovation that spurred even more space-related innovations. As he stepped on the moon, Neil Armstrong summarized its significance by saying “that’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”
