10 sept. 1892 - Massilia and New York, Typhus and the Jewish People
Description:
Russian Jews came to America about the ship Massilia looking for a new home, forced into bad conditions that fostered the spread of typhus among the population of the area they were forced into. They, as well as anyone else suspected to have been aboard the ship and anyone with typhus or any disease, were ultimately forced onto North Brother Island, an island used for quarantine.
