At 22 years old, Louis took control over the French government. He made sure than France thrived in the economic and political field and used his minister of finance for help. His minister of finance, Jean Baptiste Colbert, prevented wealth from leaving the country by making all products or goods in France. Louis had many positive things to do for France by keeping all their wealth. It made his kingdom stronger, but he also caused many terrible wars from trying to expand France’s borders.
