1 janv. 1517 - The Actions of Martin Luther
1517
Description:
Martin Luther decided to take a stand against the actions of a friar named Johann Tetzel. Tetzel was raising money to rebuild St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome. He raised the money by selling indulgences (pardons). These pardons released sinners from consequences from a priest. Tetzel was giving people the idea that they could buy their way into heaven.
