Louis XIV came into power in the year 1643, after the reign of Mazarin (Mazarin increased the power of the central government and increased taxes). Louis in responds to the Mazarin Riots weakens the Noble's Authority by excluding them from the council this increased the power of the government agents. After gaining absolute power of the country he focused on growing the country's economy. This would allow for the French empire to become a power house in the coming years
