29 août 1917 - Military Service Act & Bill
Description:
 - PM Borden passed Military Service Act
- allows soldiers cast vote on the front
- also passed Military Service Bill, which enacted conscription
- all men ages  19 - 45 had to enlist 
- over 400,000  were conscripted but only 24,000 
  served at the Front
- Wartime Elections Act extended federal vote to 
  women for first time.  Only nurses at the Front 
  and wives, mothers, or sisters of soldiers could 
  vote
