Released nationwide on February 8th, 1938, Snow White became a huge box office success and Disney was awarded an Honorary Academy Award for the achievement. With it being a huge success, Disney was able to continue making animated films, even though the ones following such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi did not produce a profit on their first release.
