God speaks to Abraham, according to the Bible. The Torah tells about a man named Abraham, who may have lived around 1700 B.C. He grouped herds of sheep and different creatures. His house was Ur in Mesopotamia. As per the Torah, God advised Abraham to leave Ur and travel with his family to a land called Canaan on the shoreline of the Mediterranean Ocean. The Torah says that god them made a contract, or official contention, with Abraham.
