29 juin 1767 - Townshend Act of 1767
Description:
This Act was created by Charles Townshend to raise revenue to pay British officials in the colonies such as judges. This act taxed 5 commodities; glass, paper, paint, lead, and tea. Charles didn't think this tax would be a problem to the colonist but again this tax was implemented without representation, so colonist decided to boycott all british goods. Eventually, the tax on imported commodities was lifted in 1770 except for the tax on tea. Townshend also disbandded the New York assembly creating colonist to fear British disbanding all colonial assemblies.
