John Calvin believed in a theocracy and that religion should control a state, so when he was asked to lead Geneva he made his ideas into a religion, Calvinism, and then ruled by those ideas. His ideas eventually spread to other states and started more theocracies. John Calvin started a new movement and religion in the Catholic reformation.
