1 janv. 1413 - Brunelleschi Creates Linear Perspective

Description:

Linear perspective is a painting style in which size and position of objects are determined based on lines converging on one horizon point. Linear perspective was first used in Brunelleschi’s painting of a Baptist standing in front of an unfinished cathedral. Linear perspective revolutionised visual art. Before linear perspective depth could not be expressed in paintings so they all looked 2 dimensional. Linear perspective is present in almost all renaissance paintings. Using linear perspective renaissance painters were able to make their paintings more realistic.
