3 sept. 1783 - Treaty of Paris (end of Revolutionary War)

Description:

Negotiated mainly by John Jay, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams, the Treaty of Paris of 1783 officially ended the Revolutionary War. Two years after the last major battle of the war, Yorktown, the treaty officially recognized the United States of America as an independent nation. Despite giving up the Northwest Territories, Brain refused to abandon several forts in the area, creating additional tensions between the nations, which led to Jay’s Treaty.
