The Battle of Scheldt was a military operation that took place in Belgium. The First Canadian Army was given the task of clearing out Scheldt of the Germans. Capturing Scheldt would provide a port to deliver much-needed supplies for the winter months. They eventually captured the area, but at the cost of over 6000 casualties.10.
