18 mars 1997 - Salva had been living in New York for a few months now, and he has noticed many differences to Sudan. One day Salva receives an email from his cousin working in Zimbabwe about his father having stomach surgery. Salva is ecstatic after hearing they have found his father. He must fly back to Sudan immediately
