25 oct. 1962 - Kennedy orders increased flights over to Cuba
Description:
Making no progress with his communications with Khrushchev, President Kennedy orders flights over Cuba to be increased from once to twice per day. Pilots also prepare to begin night flights as the U.S. monitors the Cuban missiles.
Communications were still very weak from the Americans and I think that increasing flights would help them gain information but never really did anything that actually gave them a huge advantage and Cuba was never really affected by those planes.
