Description:
In 50 BC Pompey's allies of the Senate ordered the powerful ruler Caesar to give up command of his armies. The Senate wanted Pompey to rule Rome alone. He refused and led his troops back to Rome for a confrontation with the Senate and Pompey. Before the conflict could begin, Pompey and his allies fled Italy as they thought they did not have a substantial amount of troops. Caesar's army chased Pompey's forces.
