Just as I had no problem playing on my own as a toddler, when I was in preschool, I did whatever I felt like doing. When we had free time (and when we were supposed to be doing an activity) I would wander off to play with books, blocks, balls, or whatever else caught my eye. There were even times when the class was going the pledge of alliegance and I would be faced the other way, fascinated by a random toy. I never had any problems completing tasks (whether it be doing puzzles, building block towers, or coloring in a picture), but I did have problems following the rules. Thus I generally felt that I was good because I succeeded in my tasks and goals, but I also learned that it was bad when I broke the rules because I was not rewarded for ignoring rules (like when I turned my back during the pledge of alliegance).
