Jews were treated unfairly by Greeks and Romans. It was hard for Jews to obey their religion, as they were living under the Greek rules. Greek rulers tried to prohibit important parts of Judaism, and once, a family Maccabees fought against them, and won. That's why today, people celebrate the holiday Hanukkah.
