Israel split into two kingdoms after Solomon's death. Of course, because Solomon died, he couldn't rule his kingdom Judah, so his descendants did it for him. While Solomon's decendants ruled the Judah, Assyrians conquered kingdom Israel. As the Babylon fought with Assyrians, it formed the second Babylonian empire.
