Description:
The Korean War led to very high tensions between the US and China, with China supporting North Korea and the US supporting South Korea. The US and China fought directly against each other, with a large number of casualties on both sides. The US-Taiwan mutual defence treaty was also signed around this time, leading to China's discontent and further increased tensions in the Sino-American relationship.
