1 janv. 2018 - Geothermal Energy Diagram

Description:

This diagram is of a geothermal power plant.
1. The hot water from an underground water source is pumped up. This water is heated by the hot earth around it.
2. Underground, the water is under continuous high pressure. When it reaches the surface, the change in pressure allows it to convert into steam.
3. The steam turns a turbine, which spins a generator, which generates electricity.
4. The steam then travels to a cooling tower where it condenses
5. The condensed water then gets pumped back into the ground where it will again be heated up so the process can begin again.

This diagram proves why geothermal Energy is considered sustainable, no water is wasted and the Earth has so much heat that the amount that we use in comparison is minute.
