Description:

The Obama Administration reauthorizes ESEA in an attempt to reform NCLB. ESSA empowered the states and districts to establish their own measures of testings, assessment and teacher evaluations. The standards, which took the form of Common Core in many states, would need to meet the primary federal criteria which is preparing student to be college and career-ready. ESSA removed the accountability of ELs education under Title III. EL accountability switched under Title I allowing states to determine accountability guidelines
