sunsum- one's aura (mana) that comes in contact with the things they touch, to preserve one's sunsum stools were tipped on their sides so no one would sit in them. (WHY the golden stool remains on its side permanently)
1874: Ashantee War... british destroyed asante capitol, valuables were stolen and taken back to england, an officer wanted to be presented with the golden stool but the asante people hid it
