2 oct. 1938 - Tiberias Massacre
Description:
This massacre happened after Arab rioters infiltrated a Jewish neighbourhood. The rioters consisted of 70 armed Arabs who open-fired in the neighbourhood, killing 19 Jews. Tragically, 11 of these were children. The armed Arabs fired at homes and the local church. After this event, the Irgun were infuriated and offered a joint military act of retaliation with Haganah. However, the two groups did not come to terms and agree. Tiberian Arabs then assassinated the Jewish mayor, Isaac Zaki Alhadif several weeks later.
