10 mai 1773 - Tea Act

Description:

Britain gave the British East India company the monopoly on tea and the colonists were upset by this. The colonists had never accepted this tea on tax in the first place so this just infuriated them even more. The colonists thought Britain was trying to trick them into accepting the taxes on the tea because it was cheaper than any other tea they could get their hands on.
"The British government granted the company a monopoly on the importation and sale of tea in the colonies. The colonists had never accepted the constitutionality of the duty on tea, and the Tea Act rekindled their opposition to it."
