Although it seems like a large and unified country, it was actually quite weak.
-Assembly was an exploding one, in that it needed a unanimous decision to get everythign done.
-They also experimented with having a foreign ruler... you can infer the results.
-It's lack of centralized power made a power vacuum that made it extremely vulnerable to other nations.
