Description:

It will put a ban on trade. It prohibited American ships from trading in all foreign ports. It was to go against Britain and France during the Napoleonic War.
It’s considered the biggest failure of Jefferson’s presidency.
Jefferson is trying to enforce buying American-made things. This backfires horribly because this means that we can’t trade stuff either! We can’t sell things in Britain and France!
This hurts the United States more than it hurts Britain and France.
Within 2 years, he is asking congress to repeal the law
This is a component to Britain invading America again.
