26 mars 1475 - The Trent Trial
Description:
On Easter Sunday 1475, a 2 year old boy went missing in Trent, Italy. The local priest accused the Jewish community of murdering the child and drinking his blood. Though the papacy declared the story false, the rumor took off and 15 Jews were burned at the stake. Anti-Semitism spread.
