Assassinations instigated by Queen Catherine de' Medici, and Catholic mob violence against the Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion, specifically a few days after the wedding of the king's sister Margaret to the Protestant Henry III of Navarre. Man important Hugeonauts were killed , making it an important turning pont in the war.
