Description:

A decade previous, India constructed a Tanakpur barrage and powerhouse in Mahakali. Then the Supreme court ruled that the Tanakpur agreement was a treaty, yet the UML and Indian government agree to alternative 'package deal'. In 1996, 220/265 members of Nepali parliament ratify Mahakali treaty allowing joint access by Nepal and Indian to the Mahakali River.
