Description:
The Shaduf was invented at around 2000 B.C. in Ancient Egypt. Still used today, the Shaduf is a tool to raise water from a low to a high place. A skin or bucket is hung on a rope from the long end, and a counterweight is hung on the short end. The operator pulls down on a rope that’s attached to the long end to fill the bucket which make the counterweight raise the bucket.
