Description:
Clitus was a high ranking general who was close to Alexander during his conquests, even saving his life at one point. In 328, at a party where everyone was drinking, Alexander's officers starting praising Alexander and diminishing his father, Philip. This angered Clitus as he had known Alexander's father so he started to praise Philip. In a drunken rage, Alexander took insult to his praise and killed Clitus on the spot. He regretted after he was sober and even considered suicide but he eventually moved on.
