Description:

At first, John Cabot proposed to Henry VII to sail to Japan, instead, he landed in America. Cabot's ship, the Matthew, landed in what is known today as eastern Canada in 1497, he began Britain's association with the New World that continues to this day. He was then given lots of money, in encouragement of his second voyage. Unfourtuelty, Cabot suddendy disappeared along his 2nd voyage and was never to be seen again.
