- Day 177
- They make it back to Woodbury in the wrecked van. Martinez and Lilly get guns pointed to their back and they are shuffled along towards the arena. Above the arena next to a mounted gun overlooking the parking lot, one of Martinez's men, Hines, spots the group and asks whats up.
- They tell him they just ran into trouble with some biters, making sure to keep their guns out of sight. The Governor orders Hines to shoot Broyles and Swede when they reanimate.
- The Governor lectures Lilly and Martinez about what they did and their reasons for it. Johnny enters and tells the Governor that Zorn and Manning killed each other over an hour ago and nobody will leave. He tells him to inform everyone about an important announcement in a minute and then tells Bruce to get Stevens and Alice (who lent the stun gun).
- The two walk in at gun point and sit down. The Governor offers an agreement. As long as he keeps the biters out and the town safe; nobody asks questions about how he does it. They each reluctantly agree. Lilly being to last to do so.
- People are drunkenly throwing stuff at the biters when the announcement for the Governor arrives. He ends the barter system and anyone trading goods will be forced to fight in the arena. Everyone cheers. He announces that from this day forth Woodbury will be a safe and supportive community for everyone.
