Description:

- Day 139
- Josh trades one of his best chef knives for soap and bed roll. He convinces Lilly to move into the apartment by the dry-cleaners. Lilly stays in all day planning her escape.
- Scott and Megan are nowhere to be found. Lilly suspects Megan has grown bored of Scott and is prostituting herself for weed.
- Bob stumbles into the infirmary under the racetrack and is given a tour by doctor Stevens and his assistant, Alice Warren. They tell Bob about the town and where they're from. Stevens tells Bob to stay as drunk as possible in order to cope.
- Philip Blake is walking around outside and notices Bob. He tells Bob to call him 'The Governor' and they begin walking. Bob notices that Philip is carrying a blooded bag but keeps it to himself. They discuss Bob's time in Afghanistan and Bob's wife Brenda Stookey. Then they go to Philip's apartment to drink.
- Philip likes Bob because he reminds him of his father. Philip shows Bob his 'daughter' Penny who is a biter. He feeds Penny the head of the kid he shot the other day and tells Bob his story.
- He tells Bob about his brother Brian, who went crazy with guilt after getting Penny killed. Philip had to put him down 'like a dog'. However Philip is actually talking about himself (Brian) and what he likes to think had happened to him (see day 56).
- Philip almost gets bit and lets Bob feed Penny a finger.
