Description:
After pursuing the Confederate general Robert E. Lee into Maryland, the Union Army launched attacks against Lee's army, in defensive positions behind Antietam Creek. The confeds won the battle because of Burnside's troops entering the battle through crossing the Antietam river. This victory helped the confederacy control some power states up in the north.
