The Declaration of Independence was finally considered in 1776 by the second continental congress and that they wereno longer under British Rule. Thomas Jefferson was chosen by the committee to Draft the document before announcing it.The declaration also included authors by the name of John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Sam Adams, and other important figures.
