1 déc. 1955 - Rosa Parks
Description:
On December 1, 1955, a Montgomery, Alabama black woman named Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man. Having defied the city's segregation laws, Parks was arrested. The local chapter of the NAACP planned a bus boycott for the following Monday, leading a young Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. to say in church the previous evening, "The great glory of American democracy is the right to protest for right."
