The March on Washington occurred in Washington, DC. The march was organized by A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Ruston to advocate for the civil and economic rights for African Americans. Over 250,000 people gathered in front of the Lincoln Memorial to listen to people giving speeches calling for and end to racism. One of the speakers was Martin Luther King Jr. with his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
