Description:
The Sugar Act was a law passed by Parliament on April 5, 1764. This is a taxed that was placed on sugar, molasses, and other goods transported. This also lowered taxes on molasses so it would decrease the chances of smuggling this, this law also increased rules of smuggling. The purpose of this law was to motivate importers to buy molasses instead of smuggling it.
