Description:
The Quartering act was put in place by the parliament to make the troops in america to stat and protect.They had to cut costs to the British and required colonists pay for barracks, food, and other supplies for the troop. If barracks were not available, the colonists were required to keep soldiers in their own homes. Colonists feared as standing army might become violent and take over their colony. They also believed the act violated their right to not have a standing army disturbing their peace time. Some colonies refused to provide food and supplies to the soldiers .Other colonies refused to allow ships carrying soldiers to the docks.
