1 janv. 1774 - The Intolerable Acts
Description:
The Intolerable Acts consisted of three different parts. This act was what angered the American's the most, although it was really only the icing on the cake. This act said that Americans had to let British soldiers stay in their home if necessary, gave some of America's land to Canada, and ensured that Massachusetts could not self govern. Because the American's hated this act so much, they rebelled against it, which created the 1st Continental Congress. Due to the fact that the Intolerable Acts imposed on so many basic human rights and took away the ability to self govern, it was ensured in the Articles of Confederation that something of a similar nature could never happen again due to the Bill of Rights.
