Description:
This was a change in the policy of the new Government toward Indian princes in order to make them loyal to the British. There was end of company rule and Government of India was transferred to the British crown and her parliament. According to the proclamation territories won’t be annexed anymore, the right to adopt sons and successors were given. The eligibility for all public offices were given to the people of India. It declared:
"We desire no extensions of Our present territorial possessions.. We shall respect the rights, dignity, and honor of Native Princes as Our own ... whatever race or creed, be freely and impartially admitted to offices in our service, the duties of which they may be qualified, by their education, ability, and integrity, duly to discharge"

Main Issue:
*Issues regarding recruitment to public offices for Indian people.
*Issues regarding adoption of sons and successors.
*Issues regarding religious freedom and the interference in internal matters.
iii. Outcome:
The proclamation made by the queen includes all the remedial matters taken by the British Parliament to solve issues regarding religious freedom, accessibility to public offices and successorship. And when this is not fulfilled in the exact way as it declared it created unrest and a kind of Nationalism among Indians.
