James Chadwick played an important role in atomic theory. He's responsible for the discovery of neutrons in the atom which he discovered in 1932. Chadwick determined the location of neutrons to be in the nucleus with protons and also that neutrons do not have a charge and that they also weigh the same atomically as a proton.
