1 janv. 400 av. J.-C. - Democritus

Description:

50 Years later Democritus, the next Ancient Greek philosopher came around with the next major theory. His theory was that all matter was made up of tiny particles that could not be broken down any further. He named these particles "atomos" which by definition means invisible. He believed this because, he performed an experiment, in this experiment he took a stone and split it in half, when he did this he realized that it still had the same properties no matter how much that he broke it down, this showed that the particles were indestructible. Democritus theory was almost correct, except he didn't have the basic building blocks that make up the atom.
