On October 12, 2000, The Shark Finning Prohibition Act was introduced to the House of Representatives by rep. Duke Cunningham, who is a republican rep for the state of California.He wanted to ban shark finning. This law was made because shark finning is very unethical, and to protect the sharks in US waters.
