Settlement Homes
Description:
Settlement homes were large buildings built in crowded immigrant neighborhoods of industrial cities. They were created to provide services for immigrants that would help alleviate poverty. This created an extra pull factor for immigrants, as they would have resources available for them that would help them immigrate and assimilate into America.
