28 mai 1555 - Peace of Augsburg
Description:
Recognized Lutheranism as a religion and marked the end of reformation era wars. Also allowed each individual territory to determine the religion of the territory, although it did not allow for complete freedom of religion. It also resolved a decades long religious war in Germany—with Germany being split between a Lutheran state and a Roman Catholic state. Furthermore, it ended Charles V’s hope of unifying an empire under a single church, and stepped down, transferring power to his son Philip and brother Ferdinand.
