Description:
France had been at war with European nations since 1792. In 1797, Napolean commanded a French army that defeated larger armies from Austria. He commanded and won lots of other battles, and became very well respected. He made the Austrians sign the treaty of Treaty of Campo Formio, which allowed Napoleon to set up French controlled republics. Napoleon created many public works projects, and became emporer in 1804.
