in Jahangir's Court
Description:
1) Jahangir accepted the gifts Hawkins brought for him and gave him a favorable reception.
2) As Hawkins knew Turkish, he conversed with the emperor without an interpreter.
3) Pleased with Hawkins, Jahangir appointed him as the mansabdar of 400 at a salary of Rs. 30,000 (apparently he never received it)
